Send us your worst drawing
A napkin sketch, a phone photo, a broken sample, a 3D model with no dimensions — we can quote from all of them. Don’t wait for a perfect file; the perfect file is what we make together.

You don’t need CAD to get a quote
There’s a myth that you have to hand a workshop a perfect engineering drawing or don’t bother calling. It costs people weeks — waiting to "tidy up the design" before they ask the question they could have asked on day one. We’d rather see the messy version now. Half the parts we make started as something you’d be slightly embarrassed to email.
What we can actually work from
A dimension or two and an idea of the material is usually enough to get moving. Anything on this list, we can quote from:
- 01 A hand sketch with a few key sizes Overall dimensions and the holes that matter. We’ll ask about the rest.
- 02 A photo of the part you want copied Bring the broken one. A ruler or a coin in the shot for scale helps.
- 03 A 3D model — STEP, even with no drawing We pull dimensions straight off the geometry.
- 04 A DXF or PDF, however rough We’ll flag what needs fixing rather than bounce it back.
- 05 A description and a reference "Like this bracket but 20 mm taller" gets us surprisingly far.
What we do with it
Whatever you send, we turn into a real, cuttable file — redrawing to scale, adding the bend allowances, sorting the details a sketch never shows. Then we run the same design-for-manufacturing check every job gets, and we come back with a price and any questions before a single sheet moves. You approve the drawing we made together; nothing gets cut on a guess.
The barrier should be zero
The perfect file isn’t the thing you need before you talk to a workshop — it’s the thing that comes out of talking to one. So send the napkin. The sooner we see it, the sooner it’s a part.
“The best drawing you can send is the one you actually send today, not the perfect one you send in three weeks.”
